By law 50% of staff working in a day nursery must be qualified to a Level 2 standard. At Orchards almost all our staff are qualified to a minimum of Level 3 and those unqualified are working towards that standard whilst under our employ.
All staff employed by Orchards Day Nursery are carefully chosen and as such we are fortunate to have a very low staff turnover. All our Senior Staff team have been with us long term and are able to use their wealth of knowledge and experience to give guidance and support to their staff.

Helena Stubbings – Pre-School Manager
Jennifer Smith – Baby Room Manager
Karen Burton – Toddler Room Manager
The management is committed to supporting the professional development of the nursery team.
A significant proportion of the staff are trained in First Aid and renew this qualification every 3 years.
Management
Miss Anna Smith is the Officer In Charge (Nursery Manager). Anna is highly qualified in childcare with a B.A. in Early Childhood Studies, NNEB and a BTEC in Nursery Nursing. Anna has considerable experience in Nursery management and is up-to-date with the latest developments and regulations within the childcare sector. Anna’s knowledge and dedication to the Nursery ensures that the particular needs of the children and parents are continuously met.
Mr Niall Gover and Miss Sharon Mills own the Nursery. Niall has over a decade management experience both in and out of the childcare industry and is an associate member of the NDNA (National Day Nurseries Association). Sharon, a trained Nurse with an RGN qualification, provides continuous support for the children, staff and parents of Orchards. Sharon and Niall have two children, Charlotte, born in 2001 and Max, born in 2004. Charlotte thoroughly enjoyed her time at Orchards preparing her for primary school and Max is still entertaining the Orchards staff!
